Country has arrived at Put-in-Bay! That’s thanks to T&J’s Smokehouse, which is the first and only country-western bar on South Bass Island. They’re the original and best. They’ll serve you up a juicy burger and an ice cold shot of whiskey. Feel the peanut shells cracking underneath your feet, and get ready to take the ride of your life on Brisket, the only mechanical bull at Put-in-Bay! And if you come at the right time, you’ll even get to see dueling pianos.
T&J’s has a loaded menu, so you can be sure your entire group will find something they’ll love. Start off with the fire cracker shrimp or the fried green tomatoes, quickly becoming an island favorite. The Thai Five Spice Ahi Tuna is another really unique appetizer that people love. Get an order of chicken wings, either bone-in or boneless, and try out one or two of T&J’s 8 sauces. They have standards like hot buffalo and BBQ, but we recommend the Cowboy Sauce and the Caribbean Jerk.
When it’s time for the main course, you’ll see there’s some amazing sides to choose from to go with your meal. The asparagus and the garlic fries stand out. Make sure to pair them with a burger, though, because that’s T&J’s calling card. Try the Wrangler, which comes topped with pulled pork, cheese and BBQ sauce. Whatever burger you choose though, you’ll get a delectable USDA Angus beef patty and an awesome meal.
Entertainment at T&J’s Smokehouse
Now it’s time to talk about Brisket. Do you have what it takes to challenge this bucking Brahma bull, this mechanical monster? Can you make it through 8 seconds of wild rodeo? If you think you’ve got what it takes, step up at T&J’s Smokehouse, home of the only mechanical bull on the island. We hate to break it to you though, if you take him on, our money’s on Brisket! Only 18 and over are allowed to ride Brisket, and you must sign a waiver.
There is also live music most nights during the summer at T&J’s. If you want to come by, these shows usually start around 8PM.
