The Ohio State Marching Band Comes Back To PIB!
Put-in-Bay is ecstatic to welcome back The Best Damn Band In The Land! That’s right, the Ohio State Marching Band is coming back to Put-in-Bay on September 3rd, 2023. It’s an incredible addition to the Labor Day holiday weekend and all the more reason to spend your Labor Day at the Bay!
The Best Damn Band In The Land is known all around the world, and are one of the great pride’s of not just the Ohio State University, but the state of Ohio. And for one magical day, they’re heading to South Bass Island to put on a show for the whole island!
A Sequel A Decade In The Making
The Ohio State Marching Band last visited South Bass Island in 2013, and it was one of the most memorable days in island history, with a now legendary performance on the car deck of the Miller Ferry, and a concert at Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial. At putinbay.com we still hear people talking about how great a day it was, a decade on. So we’re doing it all over again to help celebrate Put-in-Bay’s BicenTEN, the 210th anniversary of the Battle of Lake Erie.
The 2023 Edition Is Going To Be Amazing!
The itinerary for this visit has not been set in stone, but we do know generally how the day is going to go. It’s going to start on the Miller Ferry, with the band arriving in the Put-in-Bay Harbor just before 2PM. They’ll be performing on the car deck of the ferry for a bit for the boaters in the harbor, and then disembarking for a parade around DeRivera Park. Then in the evening, the band will march to Perry’s Monument for a concert performance and fireworks show. More details can be found in this space as we receive them.

This is a monumental event for Put-in-Bay and we can’t wait to share it with you! It’s got us wondering what’s the bigger concert event on the island in 2023, this or Bash On The Bay? Hmm, you tell us! We’ll see you September 3rd for THE BEST DAMN BAND IN THE LAND!
