The Fish Bowl

The Fish Bowl on Put-in-Bay is a favorite hangout among visitors to the island. The building was recently renovated, providing guests a comfortable environment. The expanded deck on the south side also affords great views of the downtown.

The Fish Bowl Details

The Fish Bowl is located right on Catawba Avenue in the same building as Mossbacks. Known as the Valentine Doller building, this Victorian structure has the words V. Doller carved on the front. Valentine Doller is Put-in-Bay luminary serving as both its first postmaster and eventually the mayor!

DeRivera Park is right across the street as well. This is a lovely park, the green heart of downtown Put-in-Bay. The Jet Express Ferry Terminal is a short walk away. This means you can disembark and head directly to The Fishbowl!

The bar is fun and quirky. With those massive fish bowl drinks, things are sure to get a little rowdy. The weekends always include a killer DJ spinning the hottest track and the occasional live musician. The entire vibe is upscale casual with a handsome bar of dark wood, classic decor, and party atmosphere.

Mossbacks

Mossbacks shares the same menu with the Fishbowl but also features a more extensive drinks menu. They have an extensive wine menu with house pours by Canyon Road including Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, White Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Select from domestic or imported beers. The list of local beers is also impressive.

Downtown Put-in-Bay

Downtown Put-in-Bay is home to a whole host of fun things to do. For groups of friends partying the weekend away, the options are practically limitless! The Fishbowl is a great place to get started. Enjoy the friendly atmosphere and fishbowl sized drinks while noshing on their delicious menu.

Other popular spots include Mr. Ed’s Bar and Grille, MIST Pool Bar, and the Reel Bar, all within walking distance of the Fishbowl. Taxis are always available to take your party home at the end of the night.

Lodging is also aplenty in this small area so you may not need that taxi afterall! Bay Lodging provides clean, cozy rooms at an affordable price. The Victory Station Hotel is also centrally located with a variety of different sized rooms. It is also the newest and most modern hotel on the island.

Victory Station is also right around the corner from the Commodore Resort. This large hotel is home to the MIST Pool Bar and includes big, well-appointed rooms in an amazing location.

Prefer a little more room? Try one of the many condos on the island. The Put-in-Bay Waterfront and Poolview condos are both multi story buildings with a full kitchen and great outdoor areas. Always a great choice for summer on the bay!
