The best musicians and bands in the region play at the Beer Barrel Saloon. This includes Dan Stewart, Captain Sweet Shoes, Kenny Kidd, and Mustang Sally, just to name a few. There is also an outside patio, a perfect place to enjoy those island breezes and a strong drink.
This 405 foot, 10 inch bar is even taller than Perry’s Victory and International Peace Monument. This impressive far features 160 bar stools, 56 beer taps and a seating capacity of 1,200. On busy nights the bar employs over 20 bartenders and also opens two extra bars in the back and side of the building. This spot can get pretty crowded. Everyone loves coming to the Beer Barrel!
Tipper’s and the Beer Barrel Saloon are both located at the site of the old Colonial Building. This beautiful wooden structure tragically burned down in 1988. During it’s almost 100 year history, the Colonial Building was home to a variety of businesses, from a dance hall, to a skating rink, and also a bowling alley.
The surrounding area is full of fun and exciting things to do. All summer long, visitors flock to Put-in-Bay to enjoy fishing on the lake, nature walks on the island, and also the fine dining and bar scene in the Village of Put-in-Bay.
If you travel to the island on the Jet Express Ferry, you’ll find yourself in the heart of downtown upon disembarking. Enjoying lake views at The Keys or live music at Mr. Ed’s Bar and Grille. Along with the Beer Barrel Saloon and Tipper’s, these establishments make summers on Put-in-Bay one to remember!
