Downtown Dave’s Thought(s) For The Week

Wow what a weekend last week. We had 343 Jeeps for the Jeep Weekend plus a big soccer tournament. Everyplace that I went to had a great crowd. Not too crowded but a nice crowd everywhere to enjoy what Put in Bay has to offer. I think we are at the halfway point of the summer season. So we you have lots of time to come up and visit

Thought of the week.

Every day is a gift. Life is very precious and can take a turn for the worse at any moment. Once you get this idea in your mind, you will stop procrastinating and put all of your ideas in motion. If you live like today is your last day on the planet, then you will get a renewed sense of appreciation of everything around you. With this appreciation in mind, you will start planning things in advance, work harder and act wisely. This is the ultimate motivation that you can give yourself to reach your desired level of success.

Ordinary life is boring. Ordinary people are comfortable with ordinary choices and goals. However, successful people yearn for something extraordinary, and will not settle until they have achieved that. There is always a way to go beyond what you think is possible and once you realize this, there will be nothing that can stop you from your endeavors.

You can always make a difference. No matter what you do, you can always make a difference and leave a legacy behind. No idea or work is small enough to be unimportant. Everyone has the potential to leave a lasting mark on this world. Recognizing this thought is what enables many people to persist even in the face of adversities.

As I type the collections of thoughts that I have collected every week I think about what all of them are to me and where I am in my life. Sometimes I wonder if maybe I had many of these thoughts earlier in my life where would I be right now. But then again in many of my posts I always say forget about the past and look towards the future. I set sometimes daily goals and every yearly goals all of the time. Do I achieve all of them??? Nope but I do my best to try every day. One goal that I had 23 years ago was to come to Put in Bay. I competed that goal. Now it is my home. Come up and visit this great little island in the middle of Lake Erie, And if you drive by Ashley’s Island House on a Saturday afternoon you might see me waving to you as you walk by.

Have a great week everybody and I hope to see you on Put in Bay soon.
