Island Air Taxi is one of the newest ways to travel to and from Put-in-Bay. With service based at the Put-in-Bay Airport, Island Air Taxi is a fun, exciting, and quick way to travel

Island Air Taxi Details

Flights leave from the Put-in-Bay Airport and travel to Port Clinton, OH, Middle Bass Island, North Bass Island, and Kelley’s Island. Each flight is $40 one way. Children from 3-15 fly for $20. Children under two and dogs and cats fly free!

It is always recommended to travel light. If luggage is deemed excessive, an additional fee may be applied. Sometimes luggage will need to travel on another flight, but don’t worry. Island Air Taxi will make sure everything and everyone arrives safely.

Pilot Dustin will take you up in a Piper Cherokee Six with Club Seating which can carry up to five passengers and luggage. Dustin has been a commercial pilot of 13 years and an aircraft mechanic for 9. Scheduled year round, flight depart and arrive from dawn to dusk, seven days a week.

Put-in-Bay Airport

The Put-in-Bay Airport consists of two paved and updated runways. It is open year round, accepting arrivals and departure from dawn to dusk. The runways are also in very good condition however they are not lighted. No departures are allowed after dusk. Those owning their own aircraft can fly into the airport.

Griffing Flying Service also makes regular departures and arrivals here.

Planes arriving can sometimes expect some light turbulence on approach when the wind exceeds 10 knots. Every plane must remain 1000 feet from Perry’s Victory and International Peace Monument. This 352 ft column is located 1.5 miles southwest of the airport.

The airport also provides restrooms and vending machines.

Activities and Special Events at the Airport.

Helicopter and Bi-Plane rides are also offered at the airport for those looking get some more air time.

The World War II Put-in-Bay Biplane Rides are for one or two person per flight. Aerobatic thrills, smooth scenic rides, and/or flight lesson are all offered. Fly along the coastline of Lake Erie and enjoy views of Put-in-Bay, Middle Bass Island, Port Clinton, and Kelley’s Island.

Enjoy a tours of the surrounding area from Put-in-Bay Helicopters. With tours of South Bass Island as well as the other Lake Erie Island, helicopter tours allow you to see the area from a whole new perspective.

The Put-in-Bay Road Race Reunion includes two days of road races around the airport. With a long history of road racing, Put-in-Bay provides fun and challenging courses for pros as well as amateurs. Win prices, enjoy refreshments, and live music.

The Put-in-Bay 3W2 FLY-IN combines plane and car enthusiasts into one day-long event. Learn more about small aircrafts as well as antique cars in this friendly, easy-going event. The popular Put-in-Bay Antique Car Parade travels to the airport for this event and a good old fashioned pig roast to ends the day.
