50 $ense Duff Woods Preserve Tour

Introducing 50 $ense by Sara Booker, A New Blog/Vlog Highlighting Some Put-in-Bay Family Friendly Activities!

The putinbay.com team is happy to introduce a new occasional feature to our website! Sara Booker, of the Boardwalk family of restaurants, along with other Put-in-Bay establishments, is going to take her camera to some great family friendly Put-in-Bay spots off the beaten path, to show you another side of the Bay!

First Up: Duff Woods Preserve!

It’s a common misconception that the only thing to do on Put-in-Bay is drink. Sure- if you wanna party, you absolutely can if you’re looking for something different, something deeper, I’m here to tell you there’s so much more.

At age 58, I made the choice to give up alcohol for health reasons. That hasn’t stopped me from going to the bars-I’m just doing it differently now. You’ll still find me out and about, soaking in the music, the energy, and the people. Follow my sister and I as we take you on some fun little lookabouts beyond the bars or sometimes right in between them.

Through this blog, I wanna take you beyond The Boardwalk and boats and into the heart of the island life. You’ll find tidbits of history, local lore, seasonal snapshots, and a behind the scenes peak at The Boardwalk family of restaurants that my family and I have poured our hearts into over the decades. From launching retail shops to serving on community boards, raising three kids who learned to sail before they could drive, I continue to promote PIB with a bit of positive humor. My sister Laura and I try to frequent every business at least once throughout the summer season.

Whether you’re a fellow islander, a curious traveler, or someone who just loves a little visual lookabout- I am so glad you’re here! There’s a lot to share and I can’t wait to show you around.

What To Expect From 50 $ense, Our New Feature Vlog

We aren’t going to have any set schedules for these, when Sara feels like taking us along to a new spot,  we’ll tag along! But you can expect places that are off the beaten path, the side of Put-in-Bay that you don’t see if you don’t leave Delaware Avenue. Sara and the putinbay.com team are all about showing you parts of the island you might not otherwise learn about, because this incredible town is so rich with activities and things to see and do, that most never realize how many options they have!
