Saunders Golf Course Details
Saunders Golf Course is located on Catawba Avenue, a little less than two miles from downtown Put-in-Bay. Situated right next to South Bass Island State Park, Saunders also includes cottages on the property. 2 and 3 bedroom cottage rentals are available by the week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Weekend rentals are also available during the off season. Guests of the cabins can play golf for free.
Use your discretion when bringing clubs to the course. Par 3’s are usually completed with two clubs, a 7 iron and a putter. This also saves anyone the hassle on lugging clubs all over the course. No reservations required for tee times. Golf experts and novices alike love playing a game at Saunders.
Saunders holds a golf tournament every summer aptly named The 7 Iron Classic. Keep an eye open for further information about the tournament. The gift shop sells drinks, snacks, and tobacco products. Ice is also available if you need to fill up your cooler.
South Bass State Park
Saunders Golf Course closest neighbor if South Bass State Park. This beautiful state park features a lovely beach, docks, a playground, picnic tables, and BBQ pits. There are also cabins here for rent. For a quick bite, stop at Axel’s Cafe. They sell delicious food the whole family will love from chicken fingers, pizza, and massive sandwiches.
Put-in-Bay Watercraft Rentals is located on the docks here as well. Rent a variety of watercraft for a fun day out on the water. This includes power boats, jet skis, kayaks, and stand up paddleboards.
