ILYA Sail Regattas on Put-in-Bay July 30th-August 2nd
The Bay Week sailing event is the oldest and one of the most prestigious sailing competitions on the Great Lakes, celebrating over 100 years. The Regatta Week has long been a proving ground for the most able and skilled sailors and the fastest of boats from the cradle of America sailing history. The highlight of the season, the Sailing Regatta offers exciting racing for sailors of all classes, plus on-shore activities galore, including award events, parties and the entertainment and recreational attractions of Put-in-Bay and South Bass Island.
Classes include Handicap (LE-PHRF, JAM, MORC, Offshore Multihull); One Design (Interlake, Thistle, JY15), Offshore One Design (tartan 10, J Boats 22, 24, 105) One Design Centerboard & Catamaran; and Cruising Class with optional Casual Racing.
FOOD AND DRINK
Social Packages are just $35/pp. Due to social distancing requirements, quantities are limited and wristbands are available for advance purchase only. Your wrist band will include beer in the tent all three nights.
Thursday night, food will be available for purchase from the PIBYC Galley. Friday night includes Mt. Gay rum and pulled pork. Saturday night features Tito’s vodka and a cookout. A single weekend wristband eliminates the need for ticket collection. Food will be served by gloved staff members behind plexiglass barriers in the club. Beverages will be served in single use cups.
Thursday beginning at 5:00 sailors may pick up race packets and wristbands in the tent.
DAILY AND DEEPWATER AWARDS
The Committee is working to conduct awards while maintaining social distancing. This will include fixed flags for photos and other items.
